01. Could This Be (Original Mix)
Dutch trio Noisia return to mau5trap with the follow up to their devastating debut single for the label, Tommys Theme. To be released as a Beatport exclusive on 21st November with its full release on 19th December, Could This be channels the same uncompromising power and energy as the aforementioned single while upping the stakes by raising the BPM as they return to the deadly drum and bass concoctions with which they made their name. As a swell of writhing, distorted synths emerge from the ether carried along by a lurching drum line Noisia set an epic scene. Layering glistening flecks of colour and delicate atmospheric undertones the track tightens its grip around you before it dissipates momentarily heralding the change of tide. Unleashing its full force it drops into a breakneck drum and bass rhythm and a morphing bassline of gigantic proportions with the trios unrivalled production values make sure it rips through the speakers with ferocity. 'Feed Me described it as the emo younger brother of Shellshock, I think thats a great characterization. Were really proud of the balance of melodical and harmonic content on one hand and dancefloor-energy on the other hand weve struck in this track. I have a feeling that this track is an indication of where were going to go.' - Noisia
